How about, "A sampler of some really good stuff from Diana Krall?"
That might be a more appropriate title. Problem is, there's so much good
stuff out there - and if you're a fan, you've probably already got it
all. Who hasn't put together their own (and very personal) "Best of"
playlist, already?
Runs from the mid-90s "All For You," through last year's "From This
Moment On." Thank goodness there's nothing from that awful, "Girl In The
Other Room." Oh. Wait - that wouldn't be the "best," would it?
That might be a good project for a holiday weekend, but I digress.
Okay, the hits are here - from "'S Wonderful," to "Peel Me A Grape," to
"Frim Fram Sauce."
And the tracks from "Live In Paris," in my opinion, the second-best live
album ever recorded are the highlight of the disc for me.
But while this is all a very good introduction for the one person not
yet familiar with Diana Krall, the rest of us can look at the track
listing, and put together our own.
Because what you really need is the boxed set.
Wait. I've got all these tracks, and a shoebox...
Kidding. If you're not familiar with Ms. Krall, you should hear this.
Really. This is the gold standard.
Highest recommendation.
